Chris is the Co-Founder and CEO of Drive Capital. He founded Drive in 2012 and the firm has since raised $2.2 billion to invest in world-class technology companies outside of Silicon Valley. To date, Drive has made investments in more than 130 companies, including Root Insurance, Duolingo, KOHO, VAST Data, ThoughtfulAI, Path Robotics and many others.

Prior to founding Drive, Chris was a Partner at Sequoia Capital where he helped launch the firm’s first growth fund. Chris grew up in Cincinnati and was an avid squash player. He would eventually drop out of college to pursue the professional squash circuit. However, he quickly learned his talents were better suited to working with entrepreneurs and supporting the vision of brilliant company builders often overlooked by coastal VCs merely because they were located outside of Silicon Valley. Chris has built Drive into the largest venture firm between NY and CA and Drive is now the market-defining VC platform in the world’s third largest GDP market.
